James Malinchak The "Money Is Bad" Myth That Holds You Back In Your Business

There are many myths about money that hold you back in business, and today I want to share with you the number one myth that you've been led to believe that is NOT true. If you don't overcome this money myth, you will never be okay with yourself to earn the money that you should be appropriately and highly compensated to be receiving when you are spreading your great work out in the world. You see the number one myth about money is "Money is bad!"

Myth #1: Money is bad.

I've heard this myth forever. "Oh, if you make money you're a bad person." The negativity you hear from others is even worse when you are a speaker for hire. I hear this statement, "Oh, come on, you're just talking. You shouldn't be charging what you're charging. You want to help people. You shouldn't be charging a fee." Of course, I care about serving people in the world, but let us get this straight, there are times I do speak as a donation. However, my business is a service to other people.

If I only donated, I would be poor, and I would need help from others. I no longer would be in a position to serve, because I would be locked in as a taker. Besides, I would not be a very effective speaker because it would be challenging to be a speaker that gives inspiration and motivational to succeed if I am not succeeding. Rather, I would be coming from a place of desperation if I am coming in as a taker, and I would not be of service of others. Therefore, my message would no longer be of service for hire or donation.

Therefore, as speakers, we need to be clear that when we are talking, we are talking as a business professional and business professionals are for their work, and if they choose to donate, then they provide a donation. However, you also need to remember that every time you speak whether you are or not, you are always being of service. You are serving by offering information, motivation, and inspiration as a service. We are serving others by providing our skill and talent. When you look at it this way, you realize that is not only ok that you are charging for your talent, but you should be charging for your talent, time, energy, planning, travel, etc.

Could I let you in on a little secret? If someone is a jerk and they make more money, they just become a bigger jerk. On the other hand, if someone like yourself and all of us are nice good-hearted people that want to deliver their message to other people, and also want to be financially rewarded for it. Then, as a result, you give some of that money away to help other people or whatever cause you care about, is money bad? Especially, if the more money you make for your talent, the more money you give away in bigger and better ways, does that mean money is bad? No, it does not mean money is bad. Money is not BAD! In fact, it would be bad to prevent yourself from being of service, making more money, and being of further service by giving more money to more charities.
