by Essie Osborn

One of our primary needs is the water. There are different tastes and kinds f it already due to some inventions that makes changes to the substance. One of which is the softening procedure. This process is done to remove magnesium, calcium and some other metal cations present in it. There are companies that can install this kind of machine in your home if you want to. But of course, that would cost you a hefty amount of money. One company that offers this service is the water softener Rosemount.

For you to save money, you may also install the machine by yourself. You only need to make sure that you can really do it by just reading some instructions provided when you buy the tools needed. Also, be ready for some soldering jobs. Here are some instructions that can help you install your own softener processor at home.

You first have to buy the things needed for it. Simply go to any shops that sells home needs and ask if there are stuff needed to install this. There will be an instruction that will come with the package and all you have to do is to read it before you begin installing.

Rest a bit after the shopping and prep up for the labor part. First thing, drain the faucet lines by turning it on. This is necessary to make sure that all the dirt and other unnecessary stuff come out of it. Then, you can turn off everything that is connected to your water line including the heater. Find a dry and level space for your softener tanks. You will 2 of them so make sure you have enough space for both.

Measure the length between the line of the cold liquid and the bypass ports on your tank. Cut a copper tubing following the length that you have just measured and solder the fittings at the ends. This task will involve a number of soldering work, so you better be ready for it.

As stated everything that you will be purchasing for this machine has manuals. Now get ready for those and start reading. It would be best if you have read it in advance as well. Recheck the package that you bought if it is complete. If there is anything lacking, be certain that you still have the receipt so you can have it replaced and ask for the missing piece.

Part of what you have bought is a tube. Prepare it and place it on the side of your conditioner tank. Another one would be a discharge tube needed for draining. Also make a draining system.

Get your bypass valve and attach it on the upper part of the conditioner. Using a screwdriver, adjust its screws to the stainless clamps to the seat valve. Now get the copper tube that you cut earlier so that it can already be used to deliver the water to the bypassing valve. Simply attach it unto the lines.

Now, you are ready to turn on the faucet and the electric heater then plug the control valve and put 4 gallons of liquid in the brine tank. Followed by the conditioner placed in the backwash stage then set bypass valve into the service position. Then everything will be up and working.
