There are many reasons why one may need to raise money quickly and almost effortlessly. These include medical bills or an emergency, or to help with travel expenses for perhaps a sports team or a representative of some sort. Where the funds needed may not be huge amounts, these DIY fundraising ideas are quick and easy ways that require very little preparation but can help a great deal.

Check the time of year to see if there are any special days you can make use of in raising money. You can arrange a service that delivers singing telegrams for Mother's Day. Alternatively, buy some relevant items in bulk and deliver them by hand to customers' loved ones on Valentine's Day, like a single rose or candy and a card.
Living in a clean neighbourhood is something every wants, but it's sometimes difficult to find the time or even motivation to help keep the area aesthetically pleasing. Getting together a group of people to do a neighbourhood cleanup is a great way to raise some money. Residents of the area can give a standard amount or they can donate based on the amount of work done by their part of the neighbourhood.
If you are looking to raise funds for a sport-associated reason, then make your fundraiser relevant to the cause. If you have a sports team looking to participate in a major tournament, raise money by hosting a smaller tournament where challengers can pay a fee to play against the team. You can also ask for small donations from everyone attending the match.

Traditional ways to raise money have included a car wash and also a bake sale. Find new and original ways to put a spin such ideas and make them even more fun. In the past, car washes have been made more appealing by having ladies in bikinis washing the vehicles. For a younger crowd, a bike wash is a good idea.
Games nights are always fun for everyone involved. Set up various stations where different types of games can be played, from old school board games to more active games like Charades or Twister. Individuals can pay a standard fee to take part in the entire event, or a little less to only partake in one or two games. Provide light refreshments.

To try and raise a little more money, think about doing something that lasts longer than a day or night in terms of asking for sponsorship or donations. Perhaps you can arrange a fun run and for the week leading up to it, runners can ask friends and family to pledge a certain amount for every mile they run. Alternatively, host a Quit-It event where participants have to drop a bad habit, like smoking, for a week or more and they get donations for every day they succeed.

It's always best to raise money by putting everyone's abilities to use. Together with a group of friends, have a little brainstorm of what each person can do or contribute and then come up with an idea based on those points. There is always some way money can be raised without having to spend a lot to begin with.
