In the case of, "The Heart of Christmas, " most people whether Christian or otherwise, love this drama. Directed by Gary Wheeler, produced by Suzette Schafer, Charlie Schafer and Mark Burman, Lance W. Dreesen tells a sad though inspirational true story of the Locke family.
In addition, cinematography and music add an extra dimension to which many to believe one of the best Christmas stories of modern time.

The actors all do a great job of portraying different members of the Locke family, relatives, friends and associates. Based on the journey of the Locke family with regards to decorating for the winter holiday season before and on Halloween, the story is a touching and heartfelt tale of hope, love and loss.

Like many parents whom both work to make ends meet, Ms. Walsh had little time to spend at home. For, not only did Megan work long hours on a daily basis but was always on call in case of an emergency at the office. While this is the case, the experience inspired Megan to spend more time at home with the children. At which time, the business woman also began writing a journal related to the Locke family.

Ms. Walsh found this quite interesting since the holidays were still several weeks away. Later, Megan learned that the family was putting up Christmas decorations early for a toddler named Dax Locke whom had a rare form of leukemia. For, it was becoming clear to the family that the toddler had not responded to the last treatment option available and that this could very well be the toddler's last Christmas.

After learning about Dax's battle with leukemia, the young woman decided to re-prioritize life. During the process, Megan continued to read posts related to the Locke family journey. After which, once the journal was complete, it was transformed into the holiday movie which has become a long standing holiday tradition, especially with Christians and movie buffs around the world.

Whether acting out of love, or simply to learn more about the family and associated experiences, the film is a long standing favorite among Christians and movie buffs. For, it is a movie which reflects the importance of holding on to a sense of hope, faith and love no matter how difficult life can become. At the same time, it shows the strength and will of the Locke family who gave a son literally an early and what would become the last Christmas of a lifetime.

When it became clear that Dax could pass before the end of the year, the family brought home a holiday tree along with inside and outside decorations, all of which were installed in October of 2009. After which, Dax lived into December before losing the battle which had placed the toddler at St. Jude Children's Hospital for fifteenth months prior to that time.
