<div class='uawarticle'>Lurking in the darkest spaces of our homes, in our lovely gardens and almost everywhere around us are creepy crawlers like bed bugs and mosquitoes. Most of the time, these insects are carriers of life threatening illness and yet we don't realise the risk that they pose upon us and our family. Yes, we might not see it, but they are threats to our health and we have to take things e arnestly.<br />

Essentially, bed bugs are wingless dangerous creatures that live in beds, furniture, and bed frames at home. Despite the fact that bed bugs do not usually transmit fatal illnesses in contrast to mosquitoes, its impact on infestation is as harmful as that of mosquitoes and other pests.<br />

For those who do not know, bed bugs bite because they feed from the blood of human beings. Their bites basically are unnoticed because of their saliva that contains substances that numb the skin during the bite. However, the wound only becomes obvious after it develops rashes and red itchy welts that are quite tempting to scratch. And albeit the bite itself isn't harmful, continuous scratching might open the wound and may cause serious infection. There are also instances that recurrent bites cause anxiety and psychological trauma.<br />

Preventive Measures Against Bed Bugs<br />

As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is better than cure. There are a variety of ways to avoid infestation through the following bed bugs control ideas.<br />

Since beds and other furniture harbour bed bugs you must try to steer away from used beds and home furniture as these might be infected by bed bugs already. But if you deem that it's really necessary to purchase second hand items then make sure that these are treated before you take it home.<br />

On the other hand, if you're travelling, make sure to assess for any sign of bed bug behaviour in the hotel room. It is also advisable not to leave your luggage on the bed or floor. And as soon as you get home ensure that your luggage and other personal effects don't have any bed bug clinging onto them.<br />

Without a shadow of doubt, bed bugs are annoying dangerous creatures and as much as we would like to get rid of them, we can't deny the fact that that endeavour is a daunting task. As such, we have to remain enthusiastic in preventing these pests to infest our living spaces.<br />
