Why Use A Recruitment Agency?

There are a number of benefits of choosing to work with a recruitment agency to fill your vacancies. Over the last couple of years the internet has become an extremely powerful tool for recruitment.

Previously it was newspapers where companies did most of their job advertising meaning recruitment could be quite a slow process.

High quality candidates will not be on the job market for very long and therefore they won't be spending too long on the job boards searching. When you post a job on the internet you might be spending lots of your time creating adds and be distracted from your actual role.

Recruitment agencies aim to create good partnerships with their clients and make sure they become as familiar as possible with their business. Recruiters can be more skilled when it comes to filtering who is and isn't a good quality candidate, this means you'll spend less time in unnecessary interviews.

Using a recruitment consultant means you will not have to pay for all the online advertising- which can add up. Finding a candidate and interviewing can cost lots.

There are three different types of recruitment agencies:

High Street Agencies- these are often very reasonable when it comes to fees and often they choose a particular area in which to work in such as commercial employment.

Middle Ground Agencies- these act very much like high street agencies and tackle a range of different roles.

Specialist Agencies- these usually have particular areas that they specialise in. Often agencies tackle complex roles that more general agencies don't.

When a candidate is taken on by a company the recruiter should handle the negotiating of terms. If candidates accept a role where they feel they have been undersold then it can have a negative impact on their work. The same can be said for employers who feel they have paid too much for a team member.

A decent recruitment consultant will be able to manage the expectations of both parties and negotiate accordingly.
