Patch the holes in your walls with toothpaste! Yes, this is definitely a temporary cover up but it works to hide an ugly hole until you can come up with the materials for a more permanent fix. Use white toothpaste and trowel it into the hole with a butter knife.<br />

When it comes to home improvement, consider purchasing quality products in stead of cheaper ones, and this will result in a much higher return on your investment. While you may save money initially by the cost of the parts, their durability may be much lesser than those of higher quality. An example of this would be buying a quality granite counter top instead of Formica.<br />

A common occurrence in many homes is a leaky shower head. This is caused by a defective or damaged O-ring inside of the head. To stop the leak, simply apply tape to the head, and twist the head off with a pipe wrench. Find an O-ring that fits your head and place it in. Place pipe sealer around the pipe threads and screw the head back on, with a final tightening from the pipe wrench. Then test the head for any further leaks.<br />

For homeowners who prefer a fencing option that is more for aesthetic value than privacy, vinyl and PVC may be the best bet. These materials are more affordable than other ornamental fencing types, can be easily installed, and are available in an immense variety of colors and textures. PVC and vinyl fences are low-maintenance, as they never require painting or staining.<br />

If you would like your living room or dorm to have a contemporary clean feel to it, opt to buy a sofa with minimal cushioning and long, lean lines. Choose the sofa in a bold color such as black, red, or beige to make a statement in your area. You can dress it up with some zebra print or striped decorative pillows.<br />

Most people gain skills and confidence after accomplishing a few projects. This is always good. There is no limit if you work with focus and intelligence.<br />
