The simplest and the most ancient valves are hinged flaps that are going to drop for obstructing the running of fluids, it may be gas or liquid, in one direction and are propelled open by the opposite direction flow. A port is the passage where flow of the fluids will occur. Valves typically have only 2 ports. A handle manually controls the valve from outside of its body while an actuator automatically controls it. A disc is an obstruction type that is movable and will restrict flow.<br />

The seat is the part where in it contacts the disc to form leak tight seal. It is classified to either soft seats or hard seats. The stem transmits motion from handle and controls devices to the disc. The gaskets are used for preventing fluid leakages.<br />
<br />
The valve ball is used for applications that have high pressure, severe duty, or high tolerance. Usually, this is made from titanium, hastelloy, nickel, stainless steel, stellite, or brass. The spring shifts the disc into a default position and allows the control of repositioning the disc. The trim are the internal elements of a valve.<br />
