For example, an individual could buy a catering and delivery service in which owners are working sixty hours per week to manage employees, set up routes, deliver and service customers on a non-stop basis. As might be expected, if the owner is sitting at home getting drunk, then reselling the business as an absentee owner business, eventually the business will crumble.<br />

With that being said, there are good people selling profitable routes. Buyers just need to vet all aspects of ownership before buying or contracting a route from another individual. Otherwise, it can often be a disappointing and costly experience. As such, when asking for owner name, license number, operating expenses, employee names, payroll information, tax documents and other materials, be sure and also ask for sales history report.<br />
<br />
Ultimately, sellers will say or do almost anything to persuade a buyer that an absent only route is a good money making opportunity. If so, then when a buyer asks for information related to history of sales, current owner, management, employees and operating expenses, there should be no problem obtaining this and other information. If so, it is often advised the individual reject the sale and politely walk away.<br />
