When looking for honey bee removal Houston inhabitants have to learn the steps to take so as to have a successful harvest. Bee farming comes in handy in many ways and one of these is pollination. The final product is delicious, healthy and contains high energy which is important in the daily activities of human beings. Such reasons have necessitated bee farming in this area.

The best time to harvest honey is during the early morning hours or late in the evening. This is because bees are inactive at these times and therefore harvesters will receive little or no resistance from these insects. Farmers are advised to approach the hive quietly so as not to alarm the bees. They should then blow smoke into the hive and this makes the bees to start feeding on their combs. This will in turn make them fully satisfied and as a result become more inactive.

The hive is then lowered on the ground and it is at this stage that a knife is used to cut the combs from the top bars. It is always advisable to leave a comb extension which will be used in the attachment of new combs in the following season. This is also a safety measure of not making the bees to move out in search of new hives.

The bars should then be placed back and the hive returned to its initial position. The harvested comb at this stage is the raw material and therefore requires processing. There are three types of processing and these are the use of heat type, the centrifugal extractor and lastly the crushing and straining method. The result of these methods is a product that is well refined and ready for human consumption.

The first method involves use of heat. The harvested combs are placed into a plastic container which is placed inside a can full of boiling water. This is then boiled until most, if not all of the honey is separated from the comb. The final product is then obtained after using a muslin cloth to remove the comb. This method is highly recommended for those practicing bee farming in small scale.

The second method involves placing the combs in a specific machine manufactured for the purpose of obtaining the final product from the comb. This method comes in handy especially to those farmers producing the product in large scale. However, this method is not the best because of the impurities that are found in the final product during consumption.

The crushing and straining method produces products of the highest quality. This is because of the high level of hygiene involved and expertise in the processing stage. The procedure involves crushing the combs and then straining them using a muslin cloth. Squeezers are then used to force the honey out of the mixture. The final product is then placed in either plastic or glass jars.

The use of this product has greatly improved the health of residents especially those suffering from chest problems. Farmers on the other hand have increased their income level as well as created a good reputation as some of these products are exported.
