<div class='uawarticle'>Gracen: We've just had our second trivia question. How can the average joe achieve more with their life than they ever thought possible.<br />

James: That's an excellent question and I am going to do a little analogy here for you. I have a twenty dollar bill. If I asked you, Gracen would you like this twenty dollar bill, free, no obligation would you like to have it?<br />
<br />
Gracen: Sure<br />
<br />
James: I mean do you really, really want it?<br />
<br />
Gracen: Sure.<br />
<br />
James: Really want it?<br />
<br />
Gracen: Okay.<br />
<br />
James: Well you lost it because you didn't take action to go get it. I asked you if you wanted it and sure you wanted it. A lot of people want things. A lot of people want to achieve things, but you need to take action and you need to do something about it because achievement doesn't come to us.<br />
<br />
We need to take action and we need to get off our butts and go do it and go get want we want in life.<br />
<br />
There's a big difference between wanting something and then doing something about it to go get it. I think you have to take action.<br />
<br />
Gracen: So personal responsibility is something you really key in on.<br />
<br />
James: Absolutely.<br />
<br />
Gracen: What do you say to people that wonder around and say "Oh I've just had bad luck." Everything bad happens to me."<br />
<br />
James: Well in specific situations, needless to say there are particular things that we do not have any control over. I had a good friend who was in his yard and a tree fell over on him and tragically killed him. Well he did not want that to happen.<br />
<br />
There are certain things that do happen and we don't have any control over. A lot of the things that we do or do not achieve and certain situations we put ourselves in, we have control over. So we have to respond differently to certain situations that occur in our lives.<br />
<br />
There's an old saying that says if you keep on doing what you have been doing you will keep on getting what you have been getting.<br />
<br />
Do you know Gracen when fish are sick, do you know how they treat the fish to make them better?<br />
<br />
Gracen: No<br />
<br />
James: They don't treat the fish. They cleanse the tank. They cleanse the environment.<br />
<br />
So if we are taking responsibility for ourselves there are some of us who have to cleanse our environment and get around different people. People who are winners, who are achievement magnets, who are going places. Not someone who is pulling you down and defeating your self esteem and taking you to a lower level.<br />
<br />
Life's too short to be around people like that. Get around people who are raising you up, praising you and motivating you and telling you I love you. I believe in you. You are a winner. You can do it.<br />
<br />
Gracen: That's very true. Here's another thing I've heard my whole life. Money is the root of all evil. Lots of people have heard that and maybe carry it around with them. Tell me about that. What do you think about that expression?<br />
<br />
James: Well money is neither good nor bad. It is what you do with the money. If you have money and you help a charity or you help put clothing on people's backs or you give people food is that a bad thing for money?<br />
<br />
Gracen: No.<br />
