Travel is an excellent opportunity to see the globe and learn more about various other societies or just to see exactly what life is like in another part of the globe. Just like any activity, however, there are certain things you could do to make the experience more pleasurable and comfy. This post will help you decide what to do and bring on your journey to Cape Town.

From Simonstown Station you can take a Green Cab trip to the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. For US$ 80 there are some deals organized straight by the Green Cab company that include transportation, entrance to Boulders Beach and tourist guide. You could get more details on the Cape Town Green Cab website or the Metrorail site. Yet another good website to look at is the official Cape Town Tourism site. You could discover hotels in Cape Town through the site as well, but sometimes it's cheaper to go through a smaller business that could customize the holiday accommodation to your needs and budget plan. Some smaller business manage better prices as they don't go with intermediaries and so have discounted rates all year round.
One thing that is sure is that for your Cape Town holidays you will find any sort of accommodation you like; from the economical backpacker hostels in and around town, all the way up to luxury resorts with breathtaking ocean views or sensational yards. Some distinguished hotels are located close to Government Avenue which takes you with a 10 minute walk to the city center, or otherwise located on the shorefront in Camps Bay, a 10 minute drive into town.

If you like trekking and bird viewing you can take off for the Tygerberg Nature Reserve, found in the Tygerberg Hills. It's the only place in South Africa where you will manage to see the Swartland Shale Renostervel, which is a threatened variety. There is also an Ecological Education and learning Centre that has a beautiful herbarium and book collection, to learn about bio-diversity, ecosystems and geography.

The Cape of Good Hope was named that way by John II of Portugal as it was a good omen that India might be reached by sea from Europe. Previously Bartholomew Diaz had called it Cape of Storms because of it's stormy risky waters. It is now a nature reserve with more than 100 bird types and superb Fynbos plants. Not far from the nature reserve is an ostrich farm where you could see the ostriches in their natural setting.

Kirstenbosch, the Botanical Gardens in Cape Town, are a site you can not miss out on. They represent an intensely pleasurable walk and pic-nic area with beautifully kept rolling green yards, against the background of rugged bluish mountains, bordered by all types of unusual native and exotic plants. In summer they often have live music concerts which are really the cherry on top.

No journey to Cape Town is truly complete without a visit to Stellenbosch and the bordering Winelands. Stellebosch is a quaint University Town that has samples of magnificently kept Cape Dutch architecture.

Taking a trip provides us the possibility to experience new things, however you wish to get ready as well as possible before you leave. Doing the proper things and preparing the right items could make a substantial difference.
